What To Expect When Going on A Myrtle Beach Fishing Trip?

myrtle beach fishingImagine yourself feeling the wind in your hair. How about the spray of salt water in your face as you wait for a tug at then of the tackle? What if you manage to catch a huge fish that takes more than five people to carry? Those are the things that you will experience during your deep sea fishing trip. If you are interested in taking a deep sea Myrtle Beach fishing trip, here are a few other things that you need to anticipate.

Myrtle Beach Fishing Trip

Nothing Shallow

As the name suggests, deep sea fishing means that you will to a spot where the water is more than thirty meters deep. In most cases, you won’t see any dry land when you go on this trip so be sure that you bring everything you need with you.

Your Trip Will Depend On The Weather

The weather and the wind have adverse effect on the strength of the water waves. Therefore, it is only natural for the captain to depend on the weather whenever they go on a deep sea fishing trip. Your skipper will tell you more about this during the trip. However, you don’t have to worry. The risks are minimized with the appropriate precautionary measures. If your fishing trip is cancelled because of these reasons, don’t worry. Voyager Deep Sea Fishing & Dolphin Cruises will immediately rebook your trip for another date and time.

You Will Board Bigger Boats

Deep sea fishing trips mean you will be boarding bigger boats compared to those used for inshore fishing. They are comprised of sturdier materials to endure the elements of the sea like the strong waves and winds. Fishing charter boats are also bigger so they could accommodate the big fish that anglers manage to catch.

More Physical Than Inshore Fishing

If you are used to sitting on your butt with one of your hands on the pole while the other one holding a can of beer, then think again. Myrtle Beach fishing is a more physical activity than inshore fishing. Once you hook your very first catch, you will feel a tug that needs both of your hands. The fish that you will catch when you go deep sea fishing is bigger and stronger than what you catch when going on an inshore fishing.

Different Set of Rods

Deep sea fishing uses the exact same tools but with different specs. The tackle used is more tolerant to sea water because of the salt, which it to corrode much faster than when fishing inshore or in fresh water. The lines are more durable to and are made to withstand game pull and weight. The conventional reels are replaced by multiplier reels so as to get rid of friction. The different equipment allows you to get a stronger and more stable hold of the line when you reel in your 100 pounder out of the sea water and to your boat.

Your Guide to Fishing Myrtle Beach With The Family

Fishing Myrtle Beach is one fantastic activity that a lot of families take pleasure in. It’s something that can provide you and your family special experiences and invaluable memories that can last for a lifetime.  This time to bond with your family away from technology and be one with nature is absolutely indescribable.

Deep sea fishing is a favorite tourist attraction among millions of people across the globe. Deep sea fishing is an adventure that has something to offer to everyone, whether an individual or a group of friends or a family. Deep sea fishing gives you an opportunity to fish various species like grouper, snapper, redfish, marlin, and tuna. Some species like grouper and snapper are available almost at any time of the year. Other offshore fishes like such as cobia, , amberjack, Spanish mackerel, tuna, dolphin, shark, giant red fish, barracuda, tarpon, kingfish, permit, and mahi are all caught seasonally

Myrtle Beach is famous for fishing because you can indulge in both inshore fishing on the bountiful flats as well as offshore deep sea fishing here. You can always fish in the shallow flats for bonefish in the morning and then later go to offshore to catch a bigger fish after lunch. Both the places offer the similar options, only the species of fish may slightly vary or may be more available in one area as compared to another. So, the choice is yours, where you want to fish. These places will yield you a number of catches. There is such a diverse variety of the marine life and diverse kind of fishing possible in Myrtle, that’s why maybe it is a part of deep sea fishing’s center of the world.

Deep sea fishing Myrtle Beach is quite an attractive sport for your family but at the same time it can be dangerous if you are not well prepared, and for that, you have to have some guidance from the experienced before you decide to jump into it. It is important that you should be well prepared and well informed of the species you may be facing while fishing before you go to sail on the open water miles away from the shoreline for deep sea fishing Myrtle Beach locations. Species which can give you a fight and for which you should be well prepared are a blue marlin or yellow tuna. For these species, you should have a fighting belt.

If you’re brand-new to fishing and specifically deep sea fishing and are unfamiliar with this fantastic past time, there are some things that you must understand prior to scheduling your family deep sea fishing trip. It is indeed one awesome adventure for you and your household. However, you need to think about some things initially to make your journey a memorable one. It goes without saying that you don’t want to leave your camera behind (and make sure you have enough batteries) for those great family snapshots.  Here are a few other considerations before you make those final plans.

Deep Sea Fishing Family Guide

Reality Check: Are They Capable?

To begin with, you should take a realistic take a look at your family’s capabilities and age. Let’s face it, you can’t really make the most of a deep sea fishing trip if you’re kids are still babies or young children or if you are taking elderly parents that might not be stable on their feet or are on a special diet. If you’re deciding on what kind of adventure to have, deliberating on these of factors is important too.

You should consider the duration of how long you’d like to be on the water. Most unskilled fishermen would normally prefer half-day excursions so that it would not be that stressful and still be pleasurable for the entire family. On the other hand, lifelong and skilled anglers would definitely want to have 12 hours or even 24-hour adventures. Nevertheless, despite how long or brief you have actually been fishing, you should still keep in mind your family’s physical abilities would impact the trip’s overall enjoyment. Elements such as attitude and age play important functions on how your family can adjust with a short-term boat trip.

Check with the charter boat service as many have set age limits. Generally, age limitations start at about eight years of ages. You must understand that businesses set these kinds of guidelines to ensure safety on your part.

Be Aware of the Distance Traveled While At Sea

Another important factor to consider is how far out to sea you will travel. The packages that you might come across can differ considerably, depending on the business. Making sure that people in your party have the right amount of food and refreshments. Most charters have a galley where you can purchase necessary items, however, you should confirm this before you set sail.

You should also inquire about equipment, bait and whether a fishing license is required. You may want to bring your own fishing equipment if you are an experienced angler and not all charters will allow this on all excursions.

fishing Myrtle BeachKnow What You Need

Normally, fishing Myrtle Beach charters will ask you to bring your own sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, extra change of clothes, and any needed medications for motion sickness or prescriptions that are taken during the day and everything else that you think is essential to bring. Make certain that you are outfitted properly with a variety of warm layers, given that it would be cooler when you’re on water especially when the sun goes down, even in summer.

Voyager Fishing Charters are a very good option when going for deep sea fishing Myrtle Beach. These charters along with supplying all the fishing gear and an  experienced captain and crew and they give you a checklist of the things that you should take along with you for fishing. The crew on the charter boats will also teach you about the correct way of doing the fishing. Even if you are an experienced angler, taking a charter boat especially out with a group is quite a good experience. You can always try a nighttime trip to have an awesome feeling of the expedition. How To Make The Most Of Your Myrtle Beach Fishing Time

There are several advantages to using a charter service when you go on a Myrtle Beach fishing trip. Chartered boats have always been considered as costly but that isn’t always the case. Here are a few things you need to know to determine if this kind of service is for you.

To Catch Fish

That is one of the many reasons why people go on a fishing trip. When going on a vacation in a place that you’re not familiar with, the fisherman would mostly rely on word of mouth for hotspots, locations, and even internet connections. Several spots won’t be available if you don’t have a boat, whether you own it or it is just a rental. Using chartered service gets rid of these issues since you don’t have to own or rent a boat. Plus, you are not expected to do anything but just fish. You will enjoy the convenience of just showing up, boarding the boat, and enjoying the fishing experience.

Knowledge of The Area

Another benefit of using a local charter service when going on a Myrtle Beach fishing trip is the knowledge of the area. You’re guaranteed to catch fish especially when you have a captain who has been fishing in the area for several years. Getting access to local spots that you would normally miss out on can significantly improve your catch. Using bigger and charter boats gives you access to offshore spots that are inaccessible if you’re on a smaller boat. Knowing local hotspots could mean the difference between everyone on the boat catching fish while having a great time, or not catching anything at all.

Knowledge of the Laws and Regulation

Those who offer charter services have intimate knowledge of the local regulations and laws about conservation. You will also get to know the local habitat well from someone who has a vested interest in ensuring that the laws are followed.

The captain will also treat you with several stories and tall tales of their fishing experiences. Take this as an opportunity to learn from the experts about everything that’s related to fishing. Find out all you can from how to bait to what equipment to use. This could be an excellent learning experience for you as an angler.

Having an expert with you like Voyager Deep Sea Fishing & Dolphin Cruises will not only improve your catch but also allow you to customize it. The captain knows what fish are in season and what could be caught during that time, letting you choose your target and try to catch the fish that you want. This will get rid of the guesswork when you are trying to catch a fish and where. It also lets you go after one specific sport fish that you would like to catch.

Opting for charter fishing service when you go on a Myrtle Beach fishing trip gets rid of all the inconvenience, headache, and the prep work when going on a fishing expedition.

Call Voyager Deep Sea Fishing & Dolphin Cruises if you are looking for a charter service for your upcoming Myrtle Beach fishing expedition.

For most people who love fishing, charter fishing or angling the activity has become a lifestyle which let them meet other fellow enthusiasts. During this time, they are able to share their love of this activity, boating and even holiday accommodations supplying varying degree of convenience. Did you also know that charter fishing has a variety of benefits? Even for the skilled angler, charter fishing can be beneficial such as being able to take a larger watercraft into deep water for a unique fishing experience.

Now, are you ready to get on a charter fishing trip?

Here are the reasons why it has become so popular for many people around Myrtle Beach and the surrounding Grand Strand area.

  1. Be spoiled

Getting the boat ready and unhooking it to the trailer, going out into the water and making sure you have everything you need is on every fisherman’s to-do list. This is time-consuming but when you go on a charter fishing Myrtle Beach trip, all those obligations are handed down to the charter captain as well as the staff. All you need to do is appear prepared for an exciting fishing trip. You can choose from deluxe accommodations in exclusive fishing camps with dishes prepared by a cook. Just imagine all the fun and relaxation without having to worry about everything else.

  1. Become enlightened

Several charter captains have years of fishing experience in the Myrtle Beach coastline and they can show you the best areas for deep sea fishing or even go on a dolphin watch trip, if you are lucky.

If you decide to go on a charter fishing trip, decide whether you want to go with a group of friends on a party charter or just on individual sessions.

  1. Catch a variety of fish

How often have you spent a whole day moving from one pier to another without catching a single fish? Do not worry, this happens to almost everyone, even experienced anglers. However, charter captains understand that they will not get repeat clients if their charter fishing trips do not generate some fish. They will rely on their years of experience to discover a place where the fish are taking the bait, in addition to advanced radar or finder to discover schools of fish.

  1. Experience it with good company

Bring a close friend. A charter fishing expedition is a wonderful means to let someone experience fishing. You might have a kid or partner who has not enjoyed fishing before because they did not catch any fish. Now is the time to let them experience charter fishing since it is typically more comfortable and has a higher chance of catching fish.

What To Expect When Going On A Fishing Trip?

myrtle beach fishingWhat are the things you can expect when you go on a deep sea fishing trip? Strong wind blowing your hair, feeling anxious as to when you’ll feel a strong tug at the end of your tackle, the idea of catching something big, and a photo of you carrying a large fish. These are only a few of the things you can expect during your trip. Listed below are the other ones that you need to anticipate.

Nothing Shallow

Just like what its name suggests, there’s going to be nothing shallow when you go deep sea fishing. You will be heading off to deeper waters that are at least 30 meters deep. Be sure to bring everything you need because you will be far from dry land.

Fishing Depends On The Weather

Your fishing trip will depend on the weather; wind that negatively impacts the strength of the water waves will play an important part in navigation. Your skipper will give you more information about this as deep sea fishing is dangerous. But if you set in place the appropriate precautionary measures, you will be able to minimize the risks. If these things caused the cancellation of your trip, don’t feel sad. You can easily reschedule your trip to a different time and date so you can safely enjoy your trip.

Deep Sea Fishing Is More Physical Compared To Inshore Fishing

If you are used to sitting while holding a pole in one hand and a can of beer on the other then you might want to think again. Deep sea fishing is a more physical water sport compared to inshore fishing. It is all hands on deck when on a deep sea fishing trip. Once you hook your first catch, it will be more than a jerk that you need to handle with one hand. You will be dealing with a fish that is bigger and stronger than common inshore fish.

Different Rods

Fishing Myrtle Beach use the same tools but with different specifications. The tackle required is much more tolerant to sea water since salt causes corrosion much faster than normal freshwater or inshore equipment. Lines are are more tolerant of game weight and pull. Multiplier reels take the place of the traditional reel to get rid of friction. The different gears allows you to have more stability and offers more strength when holding the line as you reel a large fish out of the water and into your boat.

Run Ins

You should expect to see more than the typical pond frogs or sea creatures in your local lake. Take note that you are in the open sea which means you will see manatees, puffer fish, dolphins, and even sharks. Don’t worry about all these possible run ins, your skipper and fishing charters, in general, know all about the safest fishing spots in the area.

Expect Action and Visual Satisfaction

Your trip will surely be action packed, which will get your adrenaline pumping. Things will become more exciting once you hook your very first catch. Always be prepared to capture them on camera because you will be having a lot of fun and memorable experience during your fishing trip.

Fishing Trip In Myrtle Beach

fishing myrtle beachThe wind in your hair, the spray of salt water over the bow, the anticipation of a monstrous yank at end of your line, the thought of catching something that would take more than 5 people to bring, that image of showing a photo of you and a fish with a body length longer than yours. Sea Sick?  Ideally not. Here are a few things you need to know when you go on a fishing Myrtle Beach trip.

Here are nine other things you may expect on your fishing Myrtle Beach expedition.

  1. Absolutely nothing shallow. As the word “deep” means, you will be setting off on a fishing charger to deeper waters that are more than 50 meters deep. You will be traveling a considerable distance from dry land, so double check to make sure you have what you need – including Dramamine if you have a tendency to seasickness. Our ships are equipped with ship-to-shore radio in the case of an emergency.
  2. Weather Conditions. Our vessels are the largest in the area so we rarely have to cancel due to weather. However, it does happen from time to time, the wind that adversely impacts the waters wave strength plays a tremendous role in navigation. Your skipper will tell you more about this as deep sea fishing is naturally dangerous. The risk will be lessened with the best preventive procedures. If your trip is canceled due to these factors, no need to feel blue, Voyager Deep Sea Fishing & Dolphin Cruises will instantly set your day of fishing to another date and time within your vacation time frame so you can wet your line and enjoy it safely.
  3. Deep sea boats are much larger than the ones used for fishing closer to shore. They are made of sturdier quality to be able to endure the components of the open sea such as strong winds and waves. They are likewise made bigger to accommodate those large fish that you and your friends will hook. New for 2016, Super Voyager III replaced 2 out of 3 of its engines providing less riding time to the Gulf Stream and more fishing time.
  4. Fishing Myrtle Beach is more physical than fishing in the march or closer to shore. If you are accustomed to sitting on your buttocks with one hand on the pole and the other with a can of beer, think again. Fishing Myrtle Beach will take more than all hands on deck.
