TIPS FOR CHOOSING YOUR DOLPHIN WATCHING TOUR

Are you interested in going on a dolphin trip? There are several factors you need to consider when picking the right company and you need to make sure that you do this right if you want to have a wonderful experience. Listed below are a few things you need to ask before you make a decision.

What Kind Of Boat Are You Using?

The question is basically oriented for you to know if it is a boat or maybe an inflatable. It will also let you know how big the boat is, what is it made of, and the kind of motors the boat has. You also need to know if the boat is fitted with an emergency radio. In case the boat doesn’t match the description you got when you did your research, then you should think twice. If you feel something is off when the boat arrives, it is also best not to board it. The boat you will use for Myrtle Beach dolphin trip doesn’t have to be a big boat or even a yacht. However, you need to know ahead of time what you will get and where you will board.

How Long Will The Tour Last?

You need to ask your provider how long the tour will last. It is crucial not just for you to get what you’re paying for but also to let you know what special items you might need in case the tour is going to be extended. These include your food, sun protection, glasses, additional clothing, and more. In case the dolphin watching tour is longer than three hours, ask if there food and drinks are included, or if you need to bring your own.

Where Is The Tour Going?

It’s another crucial security measure that you have to know. Find out where the tour is going and inform the other members of your group. If everyone you are with want to come along to the dolphin tour Myrtle Beach, don’t forget to tell your hotel where you are going, the name of the company you hired like Voyager Deep Sea Fishing & Dolphin Cruises and how long you think you will be away.

How Many People Will Attend The Dolphin Tours?

This questions is related to how big the boat is. In case the tour is shared with others, be sure that the boat is not overcrowded. In case the boat is an inflatable boat, take note of the number of people who will board the boat. Be sure to include crew members as a few companies take the boat’s boarding limit capacity but they have 5 members, which means they may exceed the limitations.

What Should You Expect To See?

This one is difficult but at least you’ll get some sort of commitment from the tour operator. Although you already know what you should see, the operator cannot guarantee that dolphins and whales will be at the same place daily. You have to know what your tour operators’ intentions are like if they plan to move to a new location.

How Much Will It Cost

You should also ask beforehand how much the dolphin watch tour will cost you and what else are included. This should be the last question you need to ask after you’ve asked them the previous questions. Don’t forget to ask for child price in case you are bring some kids along.

What Crew Is Going In The Trip?

Here’s where you should get more serious. Keep in mind that there are two types of tours, swimming with the dolphins and watching them only. Even though in both cases, you need to be careful about the crew, you have to take extra care always.

What Equipment Do You Have?

This question is an important one so don’t forget it especially if your dolphin tour includes swimming with the dolphins. If you are not taking your very own equipment, you should ask the operator about the condition as well as the kind of equipment you will get. Whether you are diving or watching only, you need to be sure that you have a life jacket. It should be just you but everyone who will board the boat.

What Should You Bring On A Dolphin Trip?

If you’re thinking of going on a dolphin trip but don’t know what to bring, then this post is for you. As you know, dolphin watching is an inexpensive way to have fun. To make sure that you have a memorable experience, you need to bring all the things needed for your trip.

Capture Your Dolphin Trip Experience In Photo

A quality camera is one of the essential items you need to bring when you’re going on a dolphin trip Myrtle Beach. You wouldn’t want to go home without anything to remember your experience. Dolphins are known to swim and jump fast and that means you need to set your camera properly before the trip so you can get the best photos. Try to use a single point focus and the sequence photo shoot setting, that way you could snap several photos at once without getting a blurry image. A standard smartphone can capture good photos but it’s better to use advanced cameras if possible.

What To Wear On Your Dolphin Trip

You need to check the weather at least two hours before your trip if you want to know what you should wear. The weather can change easily and that’s why it’s best to bring a light jacket or a sweater just in case. If it’s a beautiful sunny afternoon, then you should bring your sunhat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. If it’s chilly, wet, or breezy, then you should pack a jacket. You need to have a poncho if there’s a rainstorm. It’s not bad to wear too much clothing because you can always take of some of the layers during the cruise. Keep in mind to wear shoes that are non-skid because water will always find a way onto your ship. Don’t forget to bring simple items such as extra clothing, swimsuits, and towels for your dolphin watch experience.

Important Things To Remember

You can save more money if you bring some food for lunch and snacks, and some drinks too. Some cruises allow alcohol so don’t forget to ask first. You should also bring a pair of binoculars because even if dolphins are majestic creatures, they sometimes don’t cooperate. But with binoculars, you’ll be able to see dolphins up close. Bring Dramamine to avoid seasickness.

TEN DOLPHINS FACTS YOU PROBABLY DID NOT KNOW

Dolphins are fantastic animals and many individuals are taking pleasure in viewing them when on vacation in Myrtle Beach, some are even fortunate enough to be able to swim with these gorgeous animals.

While many of us know that these animals are intelligent, there are more obscure realities about them which may surprise you. Knowing these facts will make your dolphin trip more enjoyable.

Dolphins Facts You Might Have Missed

Before you embark on a dolphin trip Myrtle Beach, take a look at the 10 little know facts about dolphins listed below; if you know over half, then you can consider yourself to be rather the expert!

  • Dolphins have feelings

Dolphins are known for their intelligence and their ability to experience a wide range of feelings. These mammals have been observed to show affection, disappointment, anger, and despair. Excellent trainers know how their dolphin pals are feeling.

  • Dolphins know how to use tools

Remarkably, dolphins can utilize objects to help them accomplish their goals. They have actually been seen putting ocean sponges on their snouts while bottom feeding, which prevents the dolphins from being hurt by sea anemones and stingrays

  • Dolphins are cooperative hunters

Dolphins have been known to hunt for food cooperatively, whether receiving help from others or lending a hand to fellow hunters. They have been observed dealing with sharks, birds and even people to herd schools of fish into tight groups. They can also collaborate, each taking turns to eat while the others help.

  • Dolphins have names

We know this due to the fact that female dolphins have a specific call for each of their calves, identifying one from the other. This relates to another dolphin fact: the animals have specific identities as humans do.

  • Labor for dolphins lasts as little as 20 minutes

Thankfully for female dolphins, delivery tends to last between 20 minutes and 2 hours. In spite of the amount of time it requires to give birth, nevertheless, the common length of pregnancy in dolphins is 12 months – a full 3 months longer than humans.

  • Dolphins can tan

The skin color of these animals changes from summertime to the winter season. During the winter months, when there is less sun, their skin is lighter, while the skin turns darker during the summer season.

  • Dolphins do not rest

Dolphins rest half of their brain at a time. This helps them to keep aware of prey and predators. If you are lucky, you will get the chance to see dolphins playing around on your dolphin watch.

  • Dolphins can recognize themselves in the mirror

Researchers have shown that dolphins are one of the only species to identify their own image, with the other species being human beings and apes.

  • Killer whales are from the same family

In spite of their name, killer whales are really part of the dolphin household.

  • Dolphins cannot breathe undersea

Dolphins use their blowholes to take in the air when they increase to the surface area. When delivering, they will do so close to the surface area and the infant will emerge tail first so that they do not drown.

TOP 4 TIPS FOR A MYRTLE BEACH DOLPHIN CRUISE

So you have actually decided to set out on a Myrtle Beach dolphin cruise experience, and are trying to find ideas on where to start. Being an amateur in Myrtle Beach tourism can be tough, however, doing a little research study beforehand can yield extremely favorable results.

Dolphin Cruise Guide

In this brief guide, we will go over a few of the top suggestions every family of a tour by Voyager Dolphin Cruise should know. Let’s start:

1. Select the best tour for you- are you a morning person? Then our 10:00 Myrtle Beach Dolphin Cruise would be the best for you. This leaves the rest of your day open for other exciting adventures in Myrtle Beach – maybe even a deep sea fishing trip!

Or would an afternoon adventure better suit your schedule. We sail every afternoon from 2:30 until 5:00. Two and one-half hours of dolphin fun – one full hour longer than many of our competitors.

During the summer months, we also provide a sunset dolphin cruise leaving at 6:00. What a great way to end a day at the beach than with a romantic sunset dolphin adventure.

2. Bring the correct apparel- As is true with any Myrtle Beach trip, the clothing must reflect the activities you are planning to participate in. So for a dolphin adventure, for instance, you will want to make certain that your clothing is light and comfy. Deck shoes are advisable rather than flip-flops to keep from slipping on the deck of the vessel.

3. Take along proper equipment – This is a crucial idea for any Myrtle Beach traveler to keep in mind. You are going to see many terrific sights along a Dolphin adventure tour, so do not be caught without your camera – preferably one that is waterproof. You may also want to take a video camera to share those memories at home and share them with your loved ones. You can record all of this on a mobile phone device, however, it may not be as accurate as a camera or video recorder.

4. Pay attention to the guide – Bear in mind along with any trip involving wildlife that your tour guide is an expert that has your best interests in mind. They want you to have the Myrtle Beach dolphin trip of your life, but it is also their job to see you through safely. Following their instructions will ensure that they can do their job, and help to provide everyone with the most pleasurable trip possible.

Voyager Dolphin Cruises has the largest fleet in the Myrtle Beach area. We are your local dolphin experts. Here is what one of our guests had to say:

We love the dolphin cruise! Today was our third trip in 2 years and we weren’t disappointed. Sometimes you see dolphins, sometimes you don’t, you can’t be disappointed over the lack of a sighting of a wild animal! The trip on the water and the hilarious and amazing staff are so worth it. Bob is a trip! The crew is so interactive and I highly recommend sitting on the first level where they usually are, you’ll absolutely laugh and you might even learn some new things if you’re a novice like myself. Being from Ohio and not getting to visit the ocean much, I love standing in the front of the boat on choppy waters, but beware you will get absolutely soaked on rough water! Staying on the back of the boat is nice; you don’t get nearly as wet. The crew drops a net and brings up a vast array of sea creatures which they then allow you to handle and touch, and it’s the best, especially for children (or 22-year-old children like myself ). Where else can you hold fish, crabs, jelly balls, and more? We will be longtime customers, and I can’t wait to return for our next trip!

TAKE YOUR FAMILY ON A DOLPHIN ADVENTURE CRUISE IN MYRTLE BEACH THIS FALL

As a resident of Myrtle Beach, I often like to go to one of the piers and watch the dolphins. Sometimes you can’t catch them at the right time, or there is just one or two surfacing, but at other times, there are quite a few out there. It is fun watching them surface and then scanning the water to guess where they are coming up again. It is also fun to look for them from my balcony. However, you can get much more up close and personal than that when you visit Myrtle Beach and go on a dolphin cruise this fall.

You can go on a Dolphin Cruise Myrtle Beach. Now, with something this popular, you know you are going to have multiple companies to choose from and variations among all offers. It pays to know which of the dolphin cruise companies provide the best experience. Look at what they provide. For example, when you are out there on the boat, are you going to be in the shade? That would be nice, don’t you think?

That might not have been something you thought about, but you want to keep it mind as you look at different booking options. You can look at the types of cruises available, how long they last, what the prices are by age and all that helpful information. It would be nice if you could complete your booking online, and while I’m all for that, you bet I would be calling the cruise company to make sure that they had record of my booking. That’s the way to do it, and then you just get ready to enjoy that dolphin cruise in Myrtle Beach.

Most if not all of these dolphin adventure cruise companies will show you a good time, but some will show you a better time than others. Do they provide you with any food or beverages, or are you allowed to bring them with you? One listing talks about one of the cruises lasting two and a half hours, so that sounds like quite the long adventure. Are you ready to start watching for the dolphins?

It is one thing to see them from shore or from out on the pier, but wait until you see tons of them out in the middle of the ocean all around you. Doesn’t that sound amazing? That could be your Myrtle Beach dolphin trip experience if you decide to book your vacation here this year. You should take a look at all of the other adventures that you can take on, too. Myrtle Beach is all kinds of fun, so get ready for a week on the beach this summer.

The best way to know if you are getting a good deal is to look at the reviews. Here are a few of our Facebook Reviews

We went out today on the 2:30pm dolphin cruise. We really enjoyed it. This was our 1st time going out on a boat in the ocean. Right before we entered in the ocean, there was a couple dolphins going after food. The captain stopped the boat, and turned it around so we could see them. It was very exciting!
We them went out on the ocean for about 30 minutes, they dropped the net and caught a few different fish. We caught some shrimp, squid and jelly fish.
It was very windy, but i knew it was going to be so we dressed for it as well as brought a blanket.

If we ever come back for vacation, this is definitely something we’d do again. You never know what you’ll see out there!

                                                            ———

My family and I took the dolphin tour this morning and WOW we had so much fun! We reserved our tickets the evening before and showed up the next morning without any problems. Since we’re away from home I couldn’t print our receipt, but I found out quickly it wasn’t needed and our name was already on the list. The crew is great and were very engaging with my family. We were lucky to see maybe 16 dolphins in total and our tour went longer than planned so we could enjoy watching for a while. Great experience and great company!

MYRTLE BEACH DOLPHIN WATCH: ALL THE FACTS

dolphin watchFor visitors and locals alike, there are numerous fascinating realities to find out about dolphins while you’re out on a Myrtle Beach dolphin watch adventure. However frequently, people discover that understanding some basic info prior to their venture out to see these lovely animals in the wild allows them to enjoy their experience even more. We have found a few interesting concepts, theories, and details about dolphins that may help you look at them in a new light.

Dolphin Watch: Dolphins at Play

When you’re viewing dolphins leaping above the surface of the water, it’s an extremely exhilarating sight – and it can be pretty humbling to realize that the dolphins are having just as much fun as you are. It’s possible that dolphins are finding schools of fish, by following birds above the water or dislodging parasites from their skin, however, it’s also theorized to be an important mode of communication. Dolphins have been observed playing with seaweed and amiably pestering other regional creatures, like seabirds or turtles. While you go on a dolphin watch Myrtle Beach trip, it can be enormously gratifying to realize the dolphins you are observing are more than most likely have the time of their lives!

Dolphin Society

Dolphins are highly social creatures, living together in groups called pods. It’s most likely you’ll see a pod swimming and leaping together while you’re enjoying your dolphin watching experience. In a rare event, when food abounds, the different pods can combine together into a momentary superpod. That’s the actual term! Superpods have been known to include over a thousand dolphins at a time that makes for an amazing sight. While membership of pods isn’t really rigid, dolphins are highly attuned to one another and have been known to show indications of selflessness and concern for hurt pod-mates, assisting them to breathe by bringing them to the surface.

The Senses of a Dolphin

Dolphin trip in Myrtle Beach ends up being much more remarkable when you envision how they need to experience life. Can you imagine hearing through your jawbone? Dolphins don’t have to imagine it – it’s how they actually hear! Although they have little openings for ears on the sides of their head, while they’re underwater, Dolphins can receive the vibrations of noises through their lower jaw, conducting sound to their ‘middle ear’ via a fat-filled cavity in the jaw bone. Their hearing is also utilized for their keen echolocation. While dolphins have severe senses of sight and taste (they’ve shown choices for various kinds of fish), they aren’t believed to have any sense of smell at all.

Now that you know a few facts about dolphins – it is time for a Myrtle Beach Dolphin Watch Adventure.  Call us today to book your spot.

“Dolphin Cruise”

Very Nice Activity for a budget. Couldn’t find a lot in Myrtle Beach that wasn’t high priced. This was the best thing we did all week. Went on a two and a half hour trip which included a beautiful boat ride on a big two level boat. It was perfect weather. We sat up on the top level in the front of the boat and the view was awesome. We saw quite few Dolphins and the staff pulled a net up onto the back of the boat. We were able to see a few different things they pulled out of the net. They had a baby shark which was really cool and I was able to hold it for a few minutes.

What an awesome experience.  Our family did the Dolphin Cruise this morning and we all had a fantastic time.  The seas were a little rough but come on it’s the ocean.  We were lucky enough to actually get to see dolphins which was a huge bonus as no one would ever be able to guarantee that.  We even got to see a small 4 ft shark swimming around BONUS.  The crew and captain were nothing but friendly and knowledgeable about the area the waterway in which we traveled and I would highly recommend this as a adventure for everyone and what a wonderful picture you have the option of purchasing at the end.  Thanks again for a wonderful experience.  Team Fowler, Windsor, ON, Canada

Here are more from Trip Advisor

My family and I went on Dolphin Cruise on the evening of July 20. We had a great cruise. Lots of scenery and manage to see several Dolphins. The crew was very helpful and interacted with passengers. We all had a great time. Well worth the money.

Capt. Brian, Ken, and Brian was an awesome crew. Capt. Brian was very knowledgeable and informative on the trip about the history of the water ways. Brian and Ken were awesome interacting with everyone and showing them some of the fish they caught in the net before they released them. Definitely will go back.

If the kids won’t sleep the night before Christmas, just think how sleepless they will be the night before a dolphin cruise!

When you use your gift certificate to book a Myrtle Beach dolphin cruise, you will venture through the intercoastal waterway and out into the Atlantic Ocean.  Look for the Shrimp Boat Fleets as they work their nets – you will find the dolphins looking for dinner. Other marine life like sharks feed behind the shrimp boats. As we sail the crew will bring up sea life for the kids and adults to examine. Expect to see crabs, shrimp, sea urchins, sand dollars and even baby sharks.

Our Myrtle Beach dolphin cruises last for 2-1/2 hours of exciting fun for the whole family. All of our vessels are US Coast Guard licensed and certified. We have the latest electronics and safety equipment onboard. Our crew is knowledgeable and courteous and we have a full galley on board with ice cold beverages and snacks.
